Finance & Consulting Double-Header: FINRA Industry Session + Consulting Market Sizing Workshop

Join us for a two-part professional development event designed for students interested in finance, analytics, and consulting.

Part 1: Careers in Financial Regulation with FINRA

Co-hosted by the KSB Career, Alumni, and Industry Engagement team, this session features Lizzie Westin and Josh Bandes (AU alum) from FINRA. They’ll share insights into careers in financial regulation, emerging industry trends, and their professional journeys across data, intelligence, and regulatory work.

Moderated by Professor Sanati, this session also includes time for networking with FINRA professionals and fellow students.

Part 2: Consulting Assessment & Market Sizing Workshop

Following the FINRA session, we’ll transition into a hands-on consulting workshop focused on how MBB firms approach initial assessments after application screening. Participants will solve a market-sizing case and learn about timelines, trends, and what to expect in today’s consulting recruiting process.

Speaker Highlights

Josh Bandes
Senior Principal Intelligence Specialist, FINRA Financial Intelligence Unit
Focuses on emerging risks in the securities industry, including digital assets, alternative investments, and generative AI. Holds degrees from Georgetown Law, Rutgers Law, and American University.

Lizzie Westin
Director of Third-Party Data, FINRA Office of the Chief Data Officer
Brings 20+ years of FinTech experience across data strategy, governance, and operations. Holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins and a BSBA from Kogod.
